Samson is a type and shadow in the Old Testament of a Spirit filled believer, consecrated to the life and service of a disciple who was only one of three in the Bible to take the vow for life! The vow consisted of three things: abstain from alcohol, refrain from cutting the hair and forbidden to approach the dead.
We as believers are consecrated to God and separated from the world like Samson and his hair represented his covering and God given anointing to fulfill the will of God and his destiny. Sadly, Samson's character never caught up to his great strength and anointing because he broke his vows over and over, leading to a sin unto death! This strongman had a stronghold of lust and rebellion in his heart that led to his demise and eventually his captivity and subsequent death!
Willful disobedience always leads to death and oppression opening the doors for the powers of darkness to enter one's life to rob, kill and destroy. From the time of his youth Samson defiled his parents, approached the dead, went into harlots and ran with his enemies, only to end up asleep on the lap of a devil! The enemy was finally able to snare Samson and the first thing to go was his hair, his strength and anointing gone, his eyes were gouged out representing his spiritual sight and discernment and he was bound with bronze chains, a type of judgement and made a slave in the captivity of his enemies! BEWARE OF THE SNARE!
If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that. All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death. We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself (guards himself) and the wicked one does not touch him. I John 5:16-18
