So the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people; and many of the people of Israel died. Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, "We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord and against you; pray to the Lord that He take away the serpents from us." So Moses prayed for the people. Numbers 21:6,7

The people of Israel on their journey through the wilderness grumbled, complained and spoke against Moses and against God Himself. "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread." Manna, the bread of Heaven.

As the scripture states in Hebrews, it is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God! So, because of their complaining, God sent fiery serpents (a type of demons) among the people; and many of the people of Israel died. Then the people came to Moses crying out, "We have sinned and spoken against the Lord and you; pray to the Lord that He take away the serpents from us." So Moses prayed for the people.

Then the Lord said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent and set it upon a pole (a type of the cross) and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live." And so Moses did as the Lord instructed and made a bronze serpent and set it upon a pole and so it was, whoever was bitten, when he looked at it, he lived. This is a type and shadow of Jesus on the cross, who when we look to Him for healing, we are healed!

By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify (pardon) many. For He shall bear their iniquities. Isaiah 53:14
