Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Psalm 51:10,11

King David confessed and repented of his sins and cried out to God for mercy and for his heart to be cleansed by the blood, knowing full well that his sins would grieve the Holy Spirit and separate him from God.

When we sin willfully we become estranged from God and resist His conviction until we begin to grieve His Spirit which can lead to grave consequences, even a sin leading to death as we saw with Samson and his decision to continue in a rebellious lifestyle. The wages of sin is always death and David knew he had to cleanse his heart and have the Holy Spirit renew his relationship with God.

Do you have unconfessed sin in your heart? If so, don't delay in asking God to forgive you and cleanse you so that your fellowship with the Father wont be interrupted and the Holy Spirit wont be grieved away. Guard your heart always so that you will remain in fellowship and communion with God and with man!

"Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin. "Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart, and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel? "For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies," says the Lord God, "Therefore turn and live!" Ezekiel 18:30-32
