Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness, that the bones You have broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Psalm 51:7-9
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness, that the bones You have broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Psalm 51:7-9
God told Moses to have the children of Israel take hyssop and apply the blood of a lamb over their doorposts so that the death angel would see the blood and pass over. The lamb is a type of Jesus, hyssop has always been used in the purification of certain diseases such as leprosy because of its medicinal properties and is a symbol of purity.
The blood of Jesus is the only cleansing agent that can wash away sin and David knew he needed cleansing from his heinous behavior of adultery and murder, so he cried out to God and was forgiven. The supernatural cleansing of the blood of Jesus washes away our sins, iniquities and transgressions when we repent and ask Him to save us and deliver us from death and eternal destruction!
If you have never been cleansed of your sins and repented, then you are lost and perishing without Christ! Don't delay in crying out for mercy and receive God's forgiveness through the blood of His Son. Repent of your sinful lifestyle and make Jesus Lord and Master of your life and He will save and deliver you from evil!
And according to the law almost all things (except willful sin) are purified (cleansed) with blood, ( the blood of Christ) and without shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. Hebrews 9:22
