Whether you are fishing for fish or men it depends on hearing the voice of God to lead you to be a fruitful fisherman! Peter was a commercial fisherman and knew all the in's and out's of his trade, but he was about to get a lesson from the Master about catching fish!
The next morning Jesus appeared on the beach and asked them, "Children have you any food?" They answered Him, "No." Jesus said to them, "Cast your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some." So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish. Are you fishing on the wrong side of the boat?
Becoming fruitful in your God given ministry depends upon your hearing and discerning the voice of God. Peter threw his net in without asking for direction from His Master and didn't catch anything, but Jesus spoke to him and he obeyed and caught 153 fish! Commit your ministry to God and spend time listening for His direction, commit your plans to Him so that they are established and you will become fruitful.
Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one hundred and fifty three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken. John 21:11
