REPENTANCE
"Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent." Acts 17:30
Repentance is not spoken of much anymore as the gospel of Jesus Christ has been watered down so that it doesn't offend the sinner, but without repentance no one will inherit eternal life. In order for one to be truly born again he must repent of His sins and to repent, one must be convicted!
Conviction of sin is another component removed from gospel preaching because its time consuming, messy and it hinders those who are ignorant of true salvation in leading millions in a worthless oath called the "Sinner's Prayer" found no where in the Bible! A young preacher named Jonathan Edwards preached a Message called, "Sinners in the hands of an angry God" and those who heard it came under such great conviction that they grasped the columns in the building crying out in agony for fear of sliding into Hell!
Today however they would say that God's not mad, He loves everyone and so there are many ways to God. God does love everyone but He created a fiery Hell for the devil and his angels and all who rejected the Christ and refused to repent!
But in accordance with your hardness and your unrepentant heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God. Romans 2:5
