I can't think of anything worse than something lukewarm, milk, soft drinks or food tastes bad if it isn't hot or cold! Evidently Jesus thinks the same way we do, because He will vomit anyone who is lukewarm out of His mouth!
When I ran with the devil for 30 years I was considered to be on the highway to Hell, consuming mass quantities of drugs and booze and my gods were sex, drugs and rock and roll of which I was sold out to! I was a Hardcore sinner until one night I met Jesus and everything changed. Saved, delivered and washed in the blood of the Lamb made me a new creation in Christ and from that moment on I became a "Hardcore Christian" sold out to the things of God and never doubting who I was in Him!
It is really hard to become lukewarm when the Holy Spirit is in you because you are being motivated by and led by Him and your life is no longer your own. I have my doubts about people being truly born again if they don't have a hunger for God's word and the things of the Spirit. For years I have noticed people sitting in church, looking like they could pass out at any time, being spiritually emaciated from lack of spiritual food with no zeal for God and with no visible signs of spiritual life!
Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new. II Corinthians 5:17
