A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. Proverbs 15:13

It seems in these last days of trials and tribulations that there isn't much joy in the world, but there is much sorrow. For the believer this ought not to be because we have much to rejoice in! We have been redeemed from the curse of sin and death!

Everywhere you look people are depressed and fearful, suicide is rampant and the drug companies are having a field day dolling out opiates by the thousands! The medical community has diagnosed millions with bi-polar disorder, a condition with a multitude of symptoms causing mood swings, depression and sorrow of heart caused by what I believe the root is fear!

The word states that anxiety in the heart of man causes depression and millions are depressed, fearful of those things coming upon the world. We as believers have nothing to fear because we are delivered, washed in the Savior's blood and our course is set for Heaven. We ought to be shouting from the housetops those things Jesus has done for us, making us a joyful people with merry hearts!

So the ransomed (redeemed) of the Lord shall return , and come to Zion with singing, with everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness; sorrow and sighing shall flee away. Isaiah 51:11
