Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions, wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. Psalm 51:1,2

God is a merciful loving Father and understands our weaknesses and His ears are open to our cries. When we sin against Him we must run to Him and not away from Him, for He will abundantly pardon us and cleanse us with the blood of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

David ran to the Father for mercy knowing full well that He and only He could pardon his grievous sins and wipe away his transgression! Just as we forgive our children, so the Father forgives us if we will only come and acknowledge our sins and cry out for His mercy and grace to set us free.

God did in fact have mercy on David, although he was guilty and deserving of the death penalty for adultery and murder. When you are convicted by the Holy Spirit don't delay in confessing and repenting of your sins because you will give the enemy more ground in your life and could grieve the Spirit and put yourself in grave danger.

I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins. Put Me in remembrance; let us contend together; state your case that you may be acquitted. Isaiah 43:25,26
