Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, "Do you want to be made well?" John 5:5,6
Jesus would often times ask people to take a step of faith or ask them as He did the man at the pool of Bethesda, "Do you want to be made well?" This man had laid beside the pool for thirty-eight years waiting on an angel who would come once a year, stir the waters and the first to get in would be healed!
You would think after that long he would have done anything to get into that pool, but like many he just laid there wanting a miracle but never stepping out by faith to possess it! Faith without works is dead! Step 2, take a step of faith and grab hold of the promise! You hear it, you believe it, now possess it!
See and hear the promise, believe it, possess it and then reach out by faith and take hold of that which has been given you! Take up your pallet, stretch out your hand, get out of the boat, rise and be healed, its yours for the taking!
Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your bed and walk." And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. John 5:8,9
