I was born-again 42 years ago one night in my living room about to complete a half million-dollar drug deal when a man knocked on the door! A common house painter who had been praying for me to be saved along with a young man who worked for me. My wife let him in, and he proceeded to tell me about Jesus!
Sitting there with a lid of grass, a gram of cocaine, a sixpack of beer, a pack of cigarettes and my trusty chrome plated 45, I was a likely suspect for a Divine intervention! My life was a trainwreck with a $2000.00 a week cocaine addiction along with many other drugs and paraphernalia and being a hopeless alcoholic at 33 years of age I was standing at death's door.
The man laid out a dispensational chart he had drawn explaining God's plan of redemption and began to convince me that God loved me and then he asked me a question, "Do you believe God will save you tonight?" It hit me right between the eyes and I said, "Yes!" It felt like a million pounds lifted off my shoulders and for the first time in my life I was free! Praise be to God!
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16
