He who has knowledge spares his words, and a man of understanding is of a calm spirit. Proverbs 17:27
My late brother used to say, "You're not learning when you're talking." Have you ever tried to talk to someone who refuses to allow you to speak or even respond to the conversation and you have to try and find a place to dive in and speak?
A man of few words is counted wise even if he is a fool and the world seems to be filled with foolish people. Our President is a good example of someone who could be counted wise but won't shut his mouth which has caused him much trouble.
If we would choose our words wisely, led by Holy Spirit we would be a nation of priests who when we speak, men and women are edified, exhorted and inspired! What we speak, as a pebble thrown into a pond causes ripples that go on throughout eternity!
Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; when he shuts his lips, he is considered wise. Proverbs 17:28
