Anger in itself is not a root issue, it comes from being hurt by someone. If you have ever gotten a splinter in your finger you might not feel it for a day or so, but then it begins to become sore and infected if not removed, so it is with anger!
There are seven abominations that enter a person who has been hurt if they don't forgive and repent: hurt, bitterness, unforgiveness, retaliation, resentment, hate and murder. These are the stuff soap operas and movies are made of and the world revolves around these abominations that have started multiple wars, mass murders, and conflicts for eons ever since time began.
An abomination is something detestable to God and to allow these things to remain in your heart can lead a person to do that which he doesn't desire to do. The prisons are full of people that let anger control their emotions until it led them to unleash it on someone. Anger cannot be managed, it must be resolved in order for someone to be free. So, don't let the sun go down on your anger because it could open the door for much more than you bargained for!
"Be angry, and do not sin," do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place (opportunity) to the devil. Ephesians 4:26,27
