A man shall eat well by the fruit of his mouth, but the soul of the unfaithful feeds on violence. He who guards his mouth preserves his life, but he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction. Proverbs 13:2,3

Today, those on social media have produced a firestorm of angry words spoken against anyone who doesn't agree with them. It seems that there is a war raging in the hearts of men and women, hell bent on proving the fact that they are right in what they believe and if you don't agree with them you are wrong!
It's easy to get caught up in this diatribe of angry people spewing out words of violence and bearing the fruit of their lips which produces death to the hearers. Yesterday on the news a movie star said that the speaker of the house was going to Hell because he was a Republican!
We as believers are taught to guard our mouth and speak only that which edifies those who hear us, but it is easy to forget who we are and involve ourselves in the battle of words. May God have mercy on us all and forgive that which we have spoken against men and women who are created in His image!
But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not be so. James 3:8-10
