It seems that the spiritual nurseries are full of baby Christians, but sadly many never grow up and mature. I believe the reason for this is the way our modern-day churches are structured with the intent of keeping their members comfortable, fed with baby food and complacent in their padded pews forever, till death do us part!
The Ecclesia of God is to be more like a military force to be trained, equipped and sent into the fields to reap a harvest of souls! Everyone who is born again has a specific gifting and ministry to be involved in as the Body of Christ! Every part has a function just as the organs of our body also have a function, and if just one fails the whole body suffers!
I was fortunate to be discipled by a godly pastor and fed the meat of the word by an old carpet cleaner named Milt Green who had seminars that lasted four days, twelve hours a day and allowed me the opportunity to learn and grow in the word of God! The body of Christ must rise up and be equipped for service and as "Living Stones" they are to be fit into their place in the spiritual temple of God!
You also as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. I Peter 2:5
