To know wisdom and instruction, to perceive the words of understanding, to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, judgment, and equity; to give prudence to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel, to understand a proverb and enigma, the words of the wise and their riddles. Proverbs 1:2-6

Solomon was one of the wisest men to ever live, being gifted with God's wisdom and wrote thousands of proverbs and songs. Years ago at the beginning of my journey, God led me to start a quiet time with Him every day by reading the psalms and proverbs and spending time with Him in meditation, study and prayer. This practice has stayed with me for 38 years, through the good times as well as the bad times and has been a source of strength to me, giving me the endurance to finish the race that is set before me.
If you are serious about building a solid relationship with God, then set aside a time without distractions, phone, people, TV, etc. Early morning is best because your mind is not cluttered with the things of the day and the worries of the world that choke the word. There is a proverb for each day of the month, so get your bible and a journal to start your quiet time alone with God. As you read the proverb of the day ask the Lord to speak to you and when He does you will know it deep within your spirit, then write down what he has given you and you can go back in times of trouble and see what God said, or how He got you through whatever trial you were experiencing.
Be still and know and God who is always faithful will begin to commune with you and as you read, meditate or chew on what you are reading and the Holy Spirit will give you revelation. Praying in the Spirit is another way of fellow-shipping with your heavenly Father and will also bring about a greater revelation of what God wants you to know! He said to seek Him and you will find Him and I promise if you are diligent in seeking Him in your quiet time He will show up! So, be blessed and open your mind and heart to the miraculous things that God has in store for you!
How precious also are your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them, they would be more in number than the sand; when I awake, I am still with you. Psalm 139:17,18
