The great commission commands us as servants of God to go and compel people to come to Christ, even out in the streets so that His house (the body of Christ) may be filled! Compel is a strong word used to describe our ministry to bring in the lost!
After my salvation experience and subsequent baptism in the Spirit I sat in church until I couldn't stand it any longer, having a burning desire for more! My first experience wasn't very encouraging, finding a family of five living in the woods in a bus but I did everything I could to provide for their needs. I rented a house, filled it with items donated from a newspaper story about them and the night we moved them in I rebuked a fever from their little girl and God healed her in front of the newspaper reporter!
I tried to get them in church and lead them to Jesus but they went instead to the flea market and sold the gifts that people had given to buy beer. To make a long story short they accused me of stealing some of their clothes which in fact disintegrated at the laundry where I took them! My church had to get them to sign a release so they wouldn't sue us and they left with a car, $2000.00, new clothes and whatever else they could carry, never to be seen again! Needless to say I was discouraged and maybe should have quit but I pressed onward and upward into the ministry of Jesus!
"So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple." Luke 15:33
