In the previous Devotional we saw a woman touch the prayer shawl of Jesus and she was healed, but this was before the crucifixion and before the Holy Spirit was sent to His body on the earth. We as believers today have more than just touching Jesus, we have a relationship with Him as close as a branch that abides in a vine.
To abide means to remain, to dwell and to live in His presence as members of His body and to be One in the Spirit with Him. This doesn't mean unbelievers don't get healed because God loves everyone, but it does mean we are closer to Him than anyone else as born again children of God! We are a part of Him as your heart is a part of you, and as the scripture states, "If you ask Him for a loaf of bread He will not give you a stone."
For the believer we can't get any closer to Jesus than being One with Him in a love relationship that is stronger than anything this world has to offer. For those seeking to appropriate His promise for healing, make sure your relationship is in Christ and not in something else and if you have sinned, repent and ask for His forgiveness and you will be healed!
"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." John 15:7
