"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me." John 15:4

To abide is to remain, dwell and live within the vine, just as the natural plant receives nourishment and life, so do we as long as we are connected to the Lord Jesus. When you cut a branch from a plant it looks good for a few days and as you water it in a vase it seems to be alive, but in reality it is dying, being detached from the life giving vine!

Many believers are cut off from the Savior's life giving presence, content to feed on the crumbs of preachers, teachers and even false prophets, refusing to abide in the only source of spiritual life, they go to and fro from meeting to meeting but never connect to the true vine. The body of Christ, like a giant grape vine with thousands of clusters of divine fruit cover the earth spreading the life giving gospel of Jesus Christ!

Are you abiding in the presence of God or are you starving yourself by refusing to connect to the vine, are you alienated from the life of God and estranged from His Holy Spirit? If so, repent and seek Him with all of your heart, humbling yourself under His mighty hand and crying out for His mercy, favor and grace and He will come and make His abode in you.

"I am the vine, you are the branches. 'He who abides in Me, and I in Him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.' " John 15:5
