But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22,23

We as believers are called many things in the Word: trees of the field, the vineyard of the Lord, the planting of the Lord, God's field and so on, but the fact remains, we are fruit bearing branches who either abide in the vine or walk in the flesh and practice the deeds of the flesh!

When a fruit tree is planted it just doesn't start bearing fruit because it must be attended to, watered, protected from the cold or even the heat and even then some don't make it. So it is with us as we have to endure trials and testings in our walk with Jesus and through our tribulations we bear fruit for God.

Once we begin to grow in strength and begin to mature, God prunes us that we might bear more fruit for Him and exhibit His divine nature and character in our lives. When we walk in the Spirit we don't fulfill the lust of the flesh and so we bear fruit for God as supernatural trees of His field!

And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:24,25
