Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious, and he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.” I Peter 2:6

RESTORING THE FIRE OF GOD

Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious, and he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.” I Peter 2:6

The cornerstone is the first stone set in the construction of a masonry foundation. All other stones will be set in reference to this stone, thus determining the position of the entire structure. Today however man has made himself the cornerstone and so the whole building becomes a monument to the flesh!

The Chief Apostle and Master Builder is Jesus! It is He who constructs His temple in the earth using living stones that will become God's building and will contain the Holy Fire of God! Man has ignored the true design of the temple of God, choosing instead to emulate the world's sanctuaries and architectural majesties created by the flesh and selfish ambitions of men!

In order to build, one must be apostolic in anointing and vision and free from the lust of the flesh! The blueprint must be Kingdom inspired and supernatural in nature for it to be able to contain the fire and intensity of the awesome presence of the living God!

Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, "The stone which the builders rejected, has become the chief cornerstone." and "A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense." They stumble being disobedient to the word to which they also were appointed. I Peter 2:7,8

THE ANCIENT ARCHITECT

And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the word of the Lord had come saying, "Israel shall be your name." Then with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord. I Kings 18:31,32

Elijah was a precursor for us to examine and see the ancient architect's divine design yet to come in the future! Just as Elijah chose twelve stones, Jesus also chose twelve living stones to build His altar, the divine ekklesia and temple of God.

Built according to the establishment of the government of God which as the word speaks, rests on the shoulders of Christ Jesus! Without the twelve, God's government could not be established! Elijah proceeded to build and he had confronted the leadership and the false prophets just as Jesus confronted the Pharisees and the Sadducees in the beginning of His ministry that eventually led to His death, making Him the sacrifice for all mankind to be saved.

Once the stones were in place, the wood for the fire, the sacrifice and the outpouring of twelve waterpots, Elijah, a type and shadow of the Lord Jesus Christ could call down the very fire of the Most High! In the future Jesus would be crucified, buried, resurrected and ascend to the Father, thus sending down the glorious infilling of the Divine presence of God's Holy Spirit on 120 living stones!

"Hear me, O Lord, hear me that this people may know that You are the Lord God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again." Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench. I Kings 18:37,38

THE DOUBLE PORTION ANOINTING

So Elijah departed from there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he was with the twelfth. Then Elijah passed by him and threw his mantle on him. I Kings 19:19

This is a prophetic type and shadow of Jesus with His twelve and Elisha a type and shadow of the church to come that would receive a double portion of His Spirit! The mantle of Elijah represents the mighty outpouring on the 120 at Pentecost!

Jesus said that we, His disciples would do greater works than even He did while on the earth because He would ascend to the very throne of the Most High! Jesus chose twelve ordinary men to be His disciples and once He had trained them He gave them the gift of apostle. As I was writing this the Lord spoke to me about these men, some from the same family. Surely all of these men were not apostles and then the Lord Spoke and said, "No they were not until I gave them the gift of their apostleship!"

These twelve apostles were the first New Testament government of God, gifted to GO! Upon Judas Iscariot's fall from grace the apostles could not continue until a replacement could be named and they chose Matthias! Once this was accomplished the fire of God was almost ready to fall upon God's double portion anointed assembly of the living God!

And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you? Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me. So he said, “You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.” Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. II Kings 2:8-11
