Jesus is our High Priest, our Apostle of faith, and the Head of the church. Most churches admit this truth but don't really believe He is their Supreme leader. Pride and selfish ambition lead many godly men and pastors off the narrow road and destroy their lives. Over 1500 leave the ministry every month!
Lucifer the archangel, beautiful to behold and the wisest of all fell from the realms of heaven's splendor because of pride and selfish ambition and was expelled by the archangel Michael. This is a danger and I believe because we also put a pastor in charge of a church without the assistance of elders and the Holy Spirit's leading, they are wide open for deception to enter.
Keep in mind the church is a human body made up of many members, gifted and called to do the greater works, and being a supernatural entity it must have a head, not a human head but the Divine Head of Christ!
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for Good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10
