ENDURANCE
You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please Him who enlisted him as a soldier. II Timothy 2:3,4
When you enlist in the military you are no longer your own, you belong to Uncle Sam! So it is when you are born again, you become a soldier in the Lord's army! You have been purchased with the Savior's blood and you are no longer your own, you belong to Christ!
Being a Christian in a world gone stark raving mad is not easy and it requires us to have endurance in order to run the race and compete, as the apostle Paul says, for the prize! Jesus is our prize, our shield and our exceedingly great reward. Because He laid down His life for us, we are to lay down ours for Him as the first church did in Acts, giving of themselves and sacrificing everything for the cause of Christ!
If you are to be a Hardcore Christian you will have to endure the trials and tribulations that come to test you and you will have to war with the powers of darkness who are always trying to gain an advantage over you to defeat you and bring you down. But rejoice in the Lord because the battle is won and we are more than conquerors in Christ!
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares (entangles) us and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. Hebrews 12:1-3
