And they were astonished at His teaching, for His word was with authority. Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice. Luke 4:32,33

The baptism in the Holy Spirit provides the believer power to cast out demons, heal the sick and even raise the dead! Today however we are too smart to engage in the supernatural works of God with all of our scientific developments, even though Jesus spent most of His time on earth setting the captives free!

Imagine what the world would be like if all the professing Spirit filled believers in the world obeyed the gospel of the kingdom and engaged in the spiritual war they are called into by healing the sick and casting out demons as they preach to the lost! Millions would be saved and set free to go and do the same instead of what we have today in our mausoleums of mediocrity!

The prophet Haggai said, "Who is left among you who saw this temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now?" I would say the prophets would be appalled at what we call church today, with no power, no gospel and no ambition to get out of their pews and go into the harvest, instead content to stay in their vegetated state of complete complacency! May God have mercy!

Later Jesus appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. And He said to them (and to us) "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."He who believes and is baptized will be saved: but he who does not believe will be condemned. "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues: "they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. Mark 16:14-18
