Your Kingdom Come, Part VI
And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. Matthew 6:13
Jesus was tempted in all things, paving the way for us to follow in His steps because he knows what we suffer in these trials and can come to our aid. Everyone is tempted, from the garden of God up until today, all of mankind is tempted daily to break God's law.
God does not tempt us, but always gives a way of escape for one to be able to elude the devil. Satan cannot make you sin, he only holds up the bait and waits until your flesh can't endure it any longer and you fall headlong into that which you have been tempted in. Everyone knows what is in his own heart and if you will be honest with yourself, you already know what not to allow to tempt you, for with the temptation there is always an escape plan.
The point of no return is when lustful desire gives birth to sin, in other words looking at a beautiful woman is not sin, but lusting after her and allowing seeds of lust into your mind will lead to further action, even adultery and fornication. This is why we flee youthful lusts and take every thought captive so that desire does not conceive and give birth to sin!
Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin when it is full-grown, brings forth death. James 1:13-15
