Your Kingdom Come, Part IV

Give us this day our daily bread. Matthew 6:11

God knows our needs even before we ask Him, but it is His delight for us to come to Him with our needs and remind Him of His promises toward us. The whole earth has its needs met by God, even the birds, although they neither sow nor reap and yet our heavenly Father feeds them and even knows when one falls to the earth. Are we not of more value, He said the very hairs of our head are numbered?

I believe God wants us to trust Him with every need we have, whether for daily, weekly, monthly or yearly provision, with our health and with every single need we have to sustain our lives. God wants to be the provider of all that His people need and promised that it would be an abundant supply, even sufficient in all things. When explaining the Lord's prayer to His disciples, Jesus told of a man who had a friend come to his home at midnight and he had no bread so he went to a friend's house and woke him up and because of his persistence the man gave him bread.

So it is with our heavenly Father, He rewards our persistent asking, seeking and knocking for those things we need and then supplies abundantly according to our faith. We as the body of the Lord Jesus Christ have access to the storehouse of Heaven in which is all the provision the world needs and is available to those who would ask in faith!

"For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened to him. "If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?" Luke 11:10,11
