Worship and Warfare, Part V

"When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt." Deuteronomy 20:1

The Christian life is a series of battles with our enemies, the powers of darkness, always trying to defeat us in our walk of faith, but God is the One who in actuality does the fighting and we do the worshiping! In order for the hand of God to move against our foes we are to stand firm in our faith with the armor of God and the weapons of His warfare and worship the Lord as He defeats our enemies.

Whenever we give praise, adoration and exultation to God and worship Him in the Spirit, fear loses its stronghold upon us releasing in us the spirit of faith that extinguishes the fiery darts of the enemy! When a circumstance arises in our life whether, sickness, death, financial trouble or some other fiery trial, we are to give God glory and honor so that He will in turn defeat the powers of darkness and render them powerless as we worship Him with supplication and thanksgiving.

Throughout the word of God we are given instruction in the art of spiritual warfare and worship that allows our God to go before us in battle, breaking down strongholds, destroying speculations and every high and lofty thing that sets itself against us, giving us the victory over our enemies!

So it shall be, when you are on the verge of battle, that the priest shall approach and speak to the people. "And he shall say to them, 'Hear O Israel: today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them; 'for the Lord your God is He who goes with you against your enemies to deliver you.' Deuteronomy 20:2-4
