Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, long-suffering: bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you must also do. Colossians 3:12

We as the elect of God is not about the false doctrine of pre-destination, as if God had a list of those going to Heaven and those who go to Hell! We are in fact predestined as His elect, those of us who have been born again, chosen of God as a Holy and beloved people, a people for His possession! Within this devotional study we will look at the divine attributes of the elect.

The Bible calls us a peculiar people which is defined as belonging to one person, and for us that is the Person, Christ. We as the elect of God must walk in humility, forgiving those we don't like or those who have hurt us and as Jesus said, even love our enemies! I would say that makes us pretty peculiar in a world ruled by hate, bitterness and unforgiveness.

As the people of God we are a holy priesthood called to minister to the Most High in prayer in the Spirit, being stewards of the mysteries of the kingdom. We all have a responsibility to be a spiritual house for the Holy Spirit walking in love and giving our life for the gospel of Jesus Christ!

But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful. Colossians 3:14,15
