For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God for everyone who believes. Romans 1:16

Why would anyone be ashamed of the gospel of our salvation, the good news of eternal life in Christ, unless what is being presented today to millions of unsuspecting victims is a false and perverted gospel? "Every head bowed and every eye closed, now repeat after me." Have you ever heard that in a service and can you imagine Jesus or Peter or Paul saying that to a lost sinner?

How many millions have recited the famous "Sinner's prayer" thinking that by praying it they would magically become a born again new creation in Christ? The prayer is not in the Bible but was developed as such from Romans 10:8-10 which is not a prayer at all, but a confession of a covenant relationship with God taken from Deuteronomy 30.

Jesus said you would know His disciples by their fruit, but there are millions who prayed the Sinner's prayer who don't have the fruit of the Holy Spirit, there is no visible change in their lives and no hunger for God, but they were counted saved! Nickles, noses and numbers, counted saved but lost and going to Hell, like notches on the evangelist's gun they perish believing a lie as they descend into the darkness of eternal damnation!

For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness. Romans 1:18

But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (Deuteronomy 30:14) that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:8-10

You cannot confess that Jesus is your Lord unless He is in fact Lord and Master of your life! Just muttering a prayer without conviction asking Jesus to come into your heart ( also not in the Bible) and expecting to inherit all the benefits of God's salvation is ridiculous.

Nowhere in scripture will you find a large group of people praying a prayer to be saved, the gospel was preached and conviction of their sin was made real to them and they repented and were born again! After the Holy Spirit was poured out on the 120 disciples of Jesus in the upper room, Peter went outside and preached the gospel and 3000 were saved having been convicted and repented of their sins.

Peter preached Jesus being crucified for their sins to whom the death penalty was due and they were cut to the heart and cried out just as people did at the preaching of John, "What shall we do?" Peter didn't lead them in a prayer he told them to repent!

Then Peter said to them, "Repent and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:38

Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods and divided them among all as anyone had need. Acts 2:43-45

When one is born again he bears the fruit of repentance, in other words there is a visible sign of his transformation. The 3000 who were saved sold their possessions and gave to those who had need. This is a sign that they were moved by Holy Spirit to share their goods being set free from pride and greed.

Today we have been deceived into believing that we pray the Sinner's prayer, our ticket is punched for Heaven, life is good, back to business as usual, sit down in the pew, shut up and write a check and just show up! Millions do it every Sunday, no conviction, no relationship with God, only a dead and lifeless ritual of religion!

Do you see the power of God in the church today? Signs, wonders and miracles of healing and deliverance, or have you believed the lie that it all passed away? When was the last time you saw someone born again and transformed into an on fire disciple of Christ? In third world countries the power of God is moving but in America because of what has been preached we have a dead and lifeless religion of dead works!

"Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, "and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, "whom Heaven must receive until times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began." Acts 3:19-21
