There Is A River, Part IV

"I am the true vine and My Father is the vine dresser. "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit." John 15:1,2

The word of God uses the analogy of sowing and reaping, planting and harvesting when it refers to us because Israel was a nation of farmers who understood plainly what He was speaking of. John 15 relates to the way we as believers receive the water of life through the vine and how God takes care of His vineyard by keeping it pruned.

In order for us to receive the nourishment that the vine provides we must abide in, or in actuality, live in the presence of Christ. By abiding in Him we are fed with supernatural plant food, the true "Miracle Grow" if you will that sustains our spiritual man and causes us to grow up into mature men and women of God. If we abide in Jesus we become trees of life, if we don't we become trees of death, good for nothing and eventually cut off and thrown into the fire!

The river of life waters the garden of God with spiritual nourishment that strengthens us with the ability to overcome the world, flesh, the devil and the circumstances of this life, without which we would suffer greatly as the rest of the natural world does. We are the planting of the Lord, trees of the field, the vineyard of the Lord of Hosts and trees of life for all the world to see and experience our growth in Him, bearing the supernatural fruit of the Spirit!

"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you,, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. "By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples." John 15:7,8

Your servant in Christ, Tim Laughlin

Are you bearing fruit for God or are you bearing the nature and character of Satan? Galatians 5:16-26 explains the fruit of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life." Galatians 6:8
