There Is A River, Part I

There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacle (dwelling places) of the Most High. Psalm 46:4

The river of life flows from the midst of God's throne into His dwelling places or in other words, into us! We are the temple of God and wherever we go we water the earth with the flow of His Spirit. The river of life that flows from us makes deserts alive with the blossoms of God and trees that never cease to bear fruit.

Does this river flow from you into others or are you dried up from the worries of the world and the cares of this life? You can stop the flow of the stream by allowing other things to enter in, creating a dam that will cause you to become desolate, a dry and dusty field without the precious flow of life giving water.

Many today have allowed dams of un-forgiveness, bitterness, lust, pride and greed, to name a few to stop up the river causing a spiritual drought that can eventually cause a person to become a dry riverbed of good intentions instead of a life giving reservoir! By asking God to forgive you and renew you the dams will be broken and life will again begin to flow out of your innermost being, bringing life to everything it touches.

His delight is in the word of the Lord, and in His word he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the river of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1:2,3
