The Wisdom Of God, Part VI

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. I Corinthians 2:12,13

When we are born in the natural and begin to grow up and learn about all the things of the world we understand what things belong to us, such as gifts and talents, intelligence and abilities that we were born with. When one is born again he is taught by the Holy Spirit about those things that also belong to him, inherited from the Father who has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness.

As in the natural, so it is in the spiritual, one grows and matures as he learns about all the things he has acquired becoming a child of God. Normally when a parent dies, usually the father leaves an inheritance to his children, wealth or property, businesses or whatever he owned while he was on the earth. So it is with our heavenly Father who has left us an eternal wealth of treasure to not only enjoy, but to employ in the work that He has given us to do while we are on the planet.

My father left me hundreds of thousands in property and a profitable business when he died prematurely, but I was too young with no acquired wisdom to handle all that he left me and so I squandered it all before I was thirty three years old. When I was born again I was given a second chance to use that which God had given me for the good and expansion of His kingdom, much more valuable than any inheritance given in the world. We would do well to acknowledge those things God has given us and use them to the best of our ability in these last days on earth!

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For "who has known the mind of the Lord that he might instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ. I Corinthians 2:14-16
