The Whole Armor Of God, Part III

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth. Ephesians 6:14

To gird is to encircle or to fasten as a belt the truth of God's word, something that is so available to the body of Christ, but sadly, not learned or taken to heart. If you were to join the military and be trained for battle you would take to heart that which they were equipping you for, a life and death struggle against an enemy that wants to destroy you!

Today however, the church seems to want entertainment instead of the truth that is able to set them free, fun instead of war and food instead of fasting and praying. The western church is a wealthy, spoiled child in a playground run by self help gurus and greedy shepherds fleecing the sheep to build their kingdoms of rotting, stinking, decaying flesh! The day is coming, and now is when the terror of the Lord and His judgment is beginning to fall on the heads of those who refuse to fight and expand God's kingdom on earth by the preaching of the true gospel of Jesus Christ!

Jesus said that you will know the truth and the truth will set you free! God's word revealed by His Holy Spirit is treasure for the believer to find and take to heart. To us it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, the pearl of great price, hidden for His beloved, but it is treated as a strange thing. Overseas people beg for the word of God, hungry to know His will for their lives and many have died to obtain it. You could throw a leather bound gold page bible in the streets of America and they would just run over it, too busy to notice the treasure given to them to know and understand.

For the time will come  when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn away from the truth and be turned aside to fables. II Timothy 4:3,4
