The To Be And Not To Be Attitudes, Part VIII

Blessed are the peacemakers. For they shall be called sons of God. Matthew 5:8

Throughout history there have been many peacemakers, some statesmen, some soldiers, some lawmen, and even some preachers, but the true peacemakers are those who deliver the gospel of Jesus Christ! Jesus didn't come to earth to bring peace to the nations, but to save men's souls from eternal damnation and to give the peace of God that surpasses all understanding.

Jesus said in Matthew 10:34 that He did not come to bring peace on earth, but a sword that would separate families, because some would be saved and others not, in some cases making family members enemies of one another! It is ironic that the world's leaders all clamor for peace but try and obtain it through war. When the Holy Spirit comes into a man He brings with Him peace, comfort and the joy of the Lord, something the world knows nothing of, making His dwelling in our spirit and with Him, Shalom!

The true meaning of peace in Hebrew is shalom, which provides peace, harmony, wholeness, completeness, prosperity, welfare and tranquility making its recipients perfect and complete in Christ! In order to spread the shalom of God one must spread His gospel of salvation that on its acceptance brings about the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ in one's heart!

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
