The Terror Of The Lord
It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:31
The world is very familiar with terror with the advent of ISIS and all the other Islamic terrorist factions around the world and even in the west! There are many reasons on which to blame this invasion on many different things, such as the war in Iraq and our presence in the middle east, but we must consider the spiritual aspect of terror and what is provoking its wrath upon the world!
The scripture is very plain when it comes to the righteous judgment of God and the reasons for His wrath to be poured out on a world who has rejected and defected from the Most High. There is no fear of God among His body, nor the world and to most He is only a figment of their imagination, even in His church who have no clue what is coming upon the earth! Throughout biblical history the prophets have warned of the coming of the day of the Lord, commonly known as "Judgment Day!"
The scripture cries out, "Where is the promise of His coming?" The Jews didn't believe their Messiah would come to them at the time He did and we, the modern day know it all society of skeptics just laugh it off as if it were a fairy tale. The apostle Peter says that in the last days scoffers will come, and so they have, mocking anything that leads to the righteous anger of a Holy God, deeply offended and grieved by our rebellious behavior.
Blow the trumpet (warning) in Zion. And sound the alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of the Lord is coming, for it is at hand: a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, like the morning clouds spread over the mountains. Joel 2:1,2
THE ARMY OF GOD
A people come, great and strong, the like of whom has ever been; nor will there ever be any such after them, even for many generations. A fire devours before them and behind them a flame burns; the land is like the Garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; surely nothing shall escape them. Joel 1:2,3
Contrary to popular belief the above mentioned scripture in Joel is not describing the people of God as the song, "Blow the Trumpet in Zion" states, but is a type and shadow of the powers of darkness sent to chastise them for their disobedience. The army of God is the very judgment and instrument of His indignation on a rebellious people who refuse to repent!
Throughout the Old Testament when Israel strayed from the laws of God and rebelled against Him, He would send their enemies against them until they would repent and turn back from their evil ways. So it is today because the world and even His own people have rejected their only source of protection and deviated from His word and gone a whoring after other gods! In Deuteronomy 28:49,50 it states that God will bring a nation from afar, a nation of fierce countenance against His own people because of their disobedience. People today have a hard time believing that a loving God would send their enemies against them, but He is the same God who created Hell and damnation for the wicked!
We as believers are covered in the blood of His Son and surrounded with the presence of His Spirit, having angels dispatched to bear us up in the midst of evil, but the world of the wicked will perish in the coming tribulation and righteous indignation of the Most High God! The attack of 911 was the beginning of the destruction of Babylon, the pride and greed of a selfish and unrepentant nation who had begun to reject and expel God from their society and murdered over 57 million innocent, unborn and partially born children in the name of choice!
The earth quakes before them, the heavens tremble; the sun and moon grow dark, and the stars diminish their brightness. The Lord gives voice before His army, for His camp is very great; for strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; who can endure it? Joel 2:10,11
TURN TO GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART
"Now therefore," says the Lord, "Turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping, and with mourning." So rend your heart, and not your garments; return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness; and He relents of doing harm. Joel 2:12,13
If you were to replay all the tragic, catastrophic events, terrorist attacks, school shootings, earthquakes, super storms, wildfires and countless acts of violence in this country since 911, I believe you would weep and mourn and cry out for mercy from a holy God! But all we have heard from an arrogant people in the face of total annihilation is "God bless America!"
The truth is, God has blessed America more than any other nation on the planet, I believe in part because at first we sowed the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world and sent Christian missionaries out to reap a harvest of lost souls, but now missionaries come to us to try and save a greedy and entitled brood of rebellious people. A sad testimony of a once great nation and formidable fighting force, founded upon the principals of God's word, but now a liberal bunch of all about me, selfish and ignorant people who have totally rejected God!
My prayer for this nation and the true church of the Lord Jesus Christ is: repent and come to God in humility of heart and confess your apostasies and fruitless services that pet the flesh and ignore the harvest sent to you, and return to a God deeply offended by your behavior! America and the American church is on the verge of total destruction and the terror of the Lord will descend upon her in unparalleled waves of fearful acts of mass murder and catastrophic events that will devastate the land and will release the demonic hoards of terrorists who will continue to flood the country with fear until she ceases to exist! May God have mercy on us all!
Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you! Your riches are corrupted and your garments are moth eaten. Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days. Indeed the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, (those who went into the harvest and were not supported) which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts. You have lived on the earth in pleasure and luxury; you have fattened your hearts as in the day of slaughter. You have condemned, you have murdered the just; he does not resist you. James 5:1-6
