The Royal Priesthood Part III: Knights of the Round Table

Blessed be the Lord my Rock, Who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle- my lovingkindness and my fortress, my high tower and my deliverer, my shield and the One in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me. Psalms 144:1,2
The fabled "Knights of the Round Table" of King Arthur's court, commissioned to serve and protect the realm are likened to the Royal Priesthood of God. We as priests and kings are anointed and called to serve as knights of Christ in the kingdom of God.
With Jesus seated as the Head and His knights seated at the round table signifying a place of equality, there is unity and power of agreement for the kingdom to function in the Spirit. Authority and leadership come through humility and servant hood providing the kingdom with fathers and mothers of the faith that mentor and disciple their young believers to maturity.
Kingdom knights are keepers of the faith, anointed with God's Spirit and sent into battle for the total dominion of the world. Waging war with spiritual forces of wickedness and taking ground by pulling down strongholds they are called to conquer. Equipped with the weapons of faith and love wielding the two edged sword of God's word they are a formidable force to be reckoned with.
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds. II Corinthians 10:3,4
"Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Luke 10:19
We as believers are called to put the enemies of God under our feet, sickness, poverty, addiction, crime and death have ravaged the world and we have been given power over them. Darkness has prevailed over mankind and Jesus has sent us as light bearers to dispel the darkness and light the world with His glory!
Jesus came as a light into the world to put the enemies of God under His feet. Preaching a gospel of salvation that would redeem mankind from the destruction of sin and death, He healed the sick, raised the dead, cast out devils and portrayed to the world the nature and character of God in the flesh. We as the royal priesthood of God are to do the same and to take dominion over our enemies until they are but a footstool for our feet.
The great commission is not to start churches, but to make disciples of Christ teaching them what the Lord Jesus has taught us. making them exact replicas of Him who called us into His glory. As Jesus stepped into the reality of human existence as God in the flesh, so we too are to be His examples as men of God in the flesh, displaying His divine nature and character to a lost and dying world.
"What is man that you are mindful of him, or the son of man that You take care of Him? You have made Him a little lower than the angels; You have crowned Him with glory and honor, and set Him over the works of Your hands. You have put all things in subjection under His feet." Hebrews 2:6-8
You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. II Timothy 2:3,4
The royal priesthood, washed in His blood and anointed with His Spirit are enlisted into His army to conquer and defeat His enemies. One does not join the service on a part-time basis, nor does God have a reserve unit, only sold out "lifers" dedicated to the cause of Christ. The army of the Lord is the most powerful fighting force ever assembled in the history of the world.
When one joins up he makes covenant to fight and if necessary, even die for his country, it is no different in the King's army, one may give up his life for Jesus just as thousands before him have done. The service of the Lord is the giving of all to the King, even as He gave up His life, so we as His servants willingly lay down ours for Him! The war rages on and few are signing up, the last days army of God's remnant are giving their all to serve around the world while the rest of the so-called Christians just talk about it.
The mission of the Knights of Christ is ever before us, gathering new recruits for service in the King's army and taking dominion over new land, conquering the enemies of God, pulling down demonic strongholds and ruling and reigning with the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of all kings and Commander of the host.
Let the saints be joyful in glory; let them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, to execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the peoples; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute on them the written judgment- This honor have all His saints. Praise the Lord!
