The Reality Is Now!

Knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation." II Peter 3:3,4

Many of the teachings of Christianity revolve around what happened in the past or what is coming in the future. It seems there is no reality of now! Now is the time of your salvation, now is the time to know exactly where you are with God. It doesn't make any difference whatsoever whether there is a rapture, a tribulation either pre, mid, post, or whatever, because if you die before they happen you will already have experienced them for yourself!

So, what about now, are you born again, are you washed in the Savior's blood, are you experiencing the abundant life that Jesus promised? If so, great, but what if your not sure of your eternal position with the Lord Jesus and what if you don't know where you stand with God in the scheme of spiritual things? There are millions of people who have prayed a prayer, signed a card, got baptized, and joined up who don't have a clue what they have just done or where they go from there because they didn't get saved, they just went through the motions of man-made religion and tradition.

No one can come to God on their own terms unless the Spirit draws them and their hearts become convicted of sin or they come to the realization that they are in a desperate state in need of the mercy and grace of the Savior! You can't just walk an isle and mutter a prayer and get your so-called ticket punched for Heaven, that's not how it works. A person has to become aware of their spiritual condition and the fact that they are a sinner who has broken the laws of God and need forgiveness. Christianity has strayed from the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and has gone after the ways of the world in regards to the way they promote membership instead of preaching to the lost in order to get them saved and delivered from the bondage of sin!

"In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you." Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. II Corinthians 6:2

Now is the time to take spiritual inventory and to reconcile our heavenly accounts with God! I guarantee most people know exactly where they stand financially, but do they know where they stand with God? Sadly, millions have trusted religion to dictate to them that they are OK, after all they have led good moral upstanding lives, attended church and even gave to charity, but what about their eternal soul?

Can you say without a doubt that you belong to Jesus because you have been born again and washed in His blood or are you just hoping that you will enter Heaven's gates because you deserve it, by being good? The answer to that question is the fact that if you don't belong to Jesus, you belong to Satan, and if you belong to Satan you will ultimately end up where he's headed, to Hell! The penalty for sin is death and the penalty for not surrendering your heart to Jesus is eternal death spent in Hell forever! The choice is yours!

The word of God is like a hammer that breaks the hardness off a person's heart so that they can hear the truth that is able to make them free. The grace of God allows a sinner to come for forgiveness because his sin has separated him from the gift of salvation. The gospel is preached to alarm the sinner that his eternal house is on fire and his soul is in danger of burning up in the flames of damnation. Is your eternal smoke detector going off yet?

For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8,9

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. Romans 10:4

Even though the gospel preaches a salvation obtained by grace through faith, many, even in the church are still relying on their own ability to save themselves by their good works. The reason this is so prevalent is because the gospel of Jesus Christ is not preached anymore, oh they will tell to to bow your head and mutter a little prayer, or walk an isle, or raise your hand, but never do they tell the truth that those who don't repent and make Jesus Lord are dying in their sin and diving headlong into Hell!

The law of God exposes our sin and convicts us that we are in fact guilty of breaking his laws and have transgressed His commands making us worthy of eternal damnation. In other words, if you robbed a convenience store you would be guilty of robbery and upon your capture you would be convicted and sentenced for your crime, so it is with God, we have all sinned and when the Holy Spirit brings conviction to our hearts our crime is exposed and we realize our need to be forgiven in order to obtain His saving grace.

The first century Christians heard the gospel preached from the law and the prophets bringing about great conviction and the result was true conversion from darkness into light instead of just muttering a prayer and joining up! The reality of now is upon you and the choice to cry out for mercy and repent is yours and for those who have trusted in themselves for salvation instead of making Jesus Lord. If you have not believed in Christ's death, burial and resurrection and repented of your sin in which was inherited from your unfaithful ancestors, then now is your time to surrender your heart and cry out for His grace and mercy to save you and for His blood to wash away your sin.

The word is near you, in you mouth and in your heart that is the word of faith which we preach: that if you confess with your mouth, Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:8-10
