The Power of Appropriation Part III
To them (us) God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: (us) which is Christ in you (us) the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27
The same power that raised Jesus from the dead resides in us and is available for us to use to appropriate that which God has blessed us with! The riches of the glory of the realms of Heaven are given to those who would dare to, by faith, call them down to the earth. Remember, "On earth as it is in Heaven."
If the Lord Jesus lives in us as the scripture states, why do we settle to live in mediocrity? Why don't we see signs, wonders and supernatural miracles as His disciples not only saw, but performed in His name. The answer is, we don't believe and therefore have not seen the power and glory of God here on earth because of fear, doubt and unbelief. We have refused to get up off of our padded pews of complacency, content to come to church to hear a man, expect him to do our dirty work, write a check, sing a song, go to lunch and go home and take a nap!
The world is in desperate need of the Savior who resides within His body here on earth, but sadly, the body is in a vegetated state, a spiritual quadriplegic, unable to move out in the power and mighty name of the Lord Jesus to transform the world and expand His kingdom. Through tradition, doctrine and false prophets, the modern day church has been lulled to sleep by their warm and fuzzy, all about me preaching, and the body of Christ has fallen into a sermon induced coma!
As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him. Colossians 2:6
God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did. Romans 4:17
The "Creative Power" of appropriation is the supernatural ability to call those things that do not yet exist as though they did, in other words when someone is sick we call them healed, when someone dies we call them raised in newness of life and so on, not just name it and claim it, or blab it and grab it, but to believe in the promises of God to restore, heal and to even re-create that which is dead.
Jesus taught His disciples to operate in a supernatural realm in which they took Him at His word and with the power of His name performed great and even extra-ordinary miracles, signs and wonders. The Word says that all things are possible to those who believe, nothing is impossible and even mountains of impossibility can be removed in His name! We as His followers have that same power within us, being filled with the same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead!
With access to the very arsenals of Heaven, the weapons of spiritual warfare and the un-limited power of Holy Spirit's might, what is keeping us from walking as the disciples walked? Unbelief, fear, doubt or maybe even a dangerous religious mindset that these things somehow disappeared and we are left powerless at the mercy of the powers of darkness, although many don't believe in them either. After Jesus was resurrected He appeared to His disciples and rebuked them as they sat at the table, for their unbelief and hardness of heart for not going into the world and do what He had taught them to do!
"And these signs will follow those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover." Mark 16:17,18
DEATH AND LIFE ARE IN THE POWER OF THE TONGUE
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21
With our tongue we can speak life or death, we can create or we can destroy with our words! The tongue proclaims the word of God to create that which does not exist. When Jesus raised His friend Lazarus from the dead He said, "Lazarus, come forth!" If He had just said come forth, the whole graveyard would have come to life!
Words of faith or words of fear, doubt and unbelief have the ability to either allow us to walk in the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit or to live in defeat and failure. In the book of James it states that the tongue is like the rudder of a ship that guides the whole vessel, so, the tongue leads us to victory or to walk in the negative words of our mouth!
Faith comes from hearing the word of God, not just the written word but the revelation of that which the Holy Spirit speaks to us. When we speak the word in the power of faith and revelation, things begin to take place and supernatural events of "Creative Power" begin to happen. God used this as an example for us when He created the universe and said, "Let there be light!"
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. Hebrews 11:1-3
