The Power Of Appropriation, Part II

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten to us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in Heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation (Sozo) ready to be revealed in the last time. (now) I Peter 1:3-5

This promise speaks of an inheritance reserved in Heaven for you to call down to earth as needed. Stored in the vaults of Heaven, the inheritance, like a savings account can only be accessed by your faith! In order to receive the benefit, one must appropriate the riches of the inheritance by possessing what has been given to him by God. When you are born again you automatically receive all that the kingdom possesses just like when a relative dies and leaves you their wealth, so it is that Jesus died for you and left you His divine inheritance.

Contrary to popular belief, false prophets, demonically inspired religions and doctrines of demons there is no other God but One: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Creator of all that exists! The Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God, the expressed image of the invisible God, the Father and is also God incarnate, visible for all the world to see! There is no power on earth or in the heavens able to defeat our God, neither principalities and powers nor any other created thing can withstand the awesome power and might of the Most High God testified of in the holy scripture and alive forever more.

With this in mind and believed on, we are the expressed image of the Son of God, born from above and anointed to carry out the mission of the kingdom of Heaven here on earth. As sons and daughters of the King, we have rights, power and authority to act in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ. According to His word we have all power over the enemies of God and gifts of the Spirit according to His great mercy and grace, bestowed on all of His followers! As Jesus Christ is in the world so are we, His body, the church of the Lord Jesus Christ, sent to testify of His death, burial and resurrection to all who would believe and be saved from the wrath of God.

For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. Colossians 1:9-12

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed (transferred) us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13,14

As a born again, Spirit filled, minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ I have been in His service for thirty six years and in that time I have seen very few who I would call true disciples of Christ. Oh, don't get me wrong there are millions who claim to belong to Him, they prayed the prayer, got baptized, joined the local church and showed up every Sunday of their lives, but living in spiritual mediocrity.

There is no power in the church, especially in the West and there is no testimony of God's signs, miracles and wonders among His people for the most part. As we enter these last of days approaching the apocalyptic end of the planet as we know it and the coming of our Lord, we must arise, be filled and anointed to serve as His body and fulfill the mission He has given us to establish His kingdom here on earth. If you are truly born again and baptized in His Holy Spirit you have deep within you a desire and longing to fully please Him in all things and fulfill that which He has called you, as a member of His household to do on your journey upon this earth.

True, many are asleep in the light, millions of others never came to know Him and many others have fallen away, but you who have that burning in your heart, that restlessness that sitting in a pew on Sundays can never satisfy, must reach higher for the upward call of Christ, no matter what the cost! We as His supernatural body must appropriate all that He has given us as our inheritance to fulfill His mission, mandate and calling here on earth as it is in Heaven!

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in Heaven and that are on the earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. Colossians 1:15-17

And He is the Head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. Colossians 1:18

The body of the Lord Jesus Christ is an expression of His actual supernatural presence in the earth, made up of His followers who are led by Him in all things, He being the actual Head of the body. Unlike what we have today, in most cases, a cheap imitation copied from the old testament priesthood and patterned after the world, the true body of Christ on earth is not a place to go, but a person to be!

The reason there is no power in the church is the fact that Christ is not preeminent, only a figurehead, an apparition of sorts who many believe in but not here on earth, the mindset is He is millions of miles away in the heavens. Preeminence means to be of first importance and as He is the Head of the body He is the supreme leader in all things, not committees, nor boards or any human intervention, but a supernatural entity led by the Holy Spirit.

Jesus led by example when He trained the twelve as disciples and then on to be apostles of His first church of the new testament. After three and a half years of on the job training after His crucifixion He ascended to the Father in Heaven and then sent His Spirit upon His first fellowship of believers to be led by His presence in all things with a mission to expand His kingdom throughout the earth.

For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him whether things on earth or things in Heaven, having made peace through the blood of the cross. Colossians 1:19,20
