THE NAMES OF GOD

"I am the Vine, and My Father is the vine dresser, "Every branch in Me that does not bear good fruit He takes away and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit." John 15:1,2

Jesus is the Vine that connects every believer to Him and to one another. Every church, although seemingly separated, if they are abiding in Him they are connected too. If you have ever looked at a grape vine it can grow infinitely as long as it stays connected to its life source.

So it is with us, as long as we abide, (live, dwell and remain) we are one with Him. If you cut a branch off of a vine it will look like it has life for a while, but even though you water it, it will begin to wither. Many have come to the Lord but after a while begin to drift away as the parable of the sower says, with worries, riches and cares for other things choking the life out of them. The weeds of the world will take over your vineyard if you don't abide in Jesus!

From the Vine we receive life and nourishment, without which we would shrivel and die spiritually. This is why we must have a continual relationship with Him in prayer and the fellowship (sharing) He gives us through the indwelling presence of His Holy Spirit.

"Abide in Me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. "I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." John 15:4,5
