THE NAMES OF GOD
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in Heaven, and those on earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11
Jesus Christ stepped out of the realms of Heaven to give us a glimpse of what God looks like clothed in flesh. Sometimes we forget that Jesus is God and His name is above all names. In the previous devotional teachings we learned the names of God that revealed His character and divine nature.
Isaiah prophesied of the coming of the Son of God and pronounced His name as Immanuel, God with us. It is hard to conceive the thought of a triune God, three in one, but if you think about an egg, the shell represents God the Father, all encompassing and omnipresent, the egg white represents the Holy Spirit, pure and holy, omniscient, having infinite wisdom and awareness, and lastly, the yolk, God in the flesh, the Son of God!
Jesus is God and His nature is love and His character qualities are the fruits of the Holy Spirit. His divine attributes exude the true nature of God. He is the holy and acceptable sacrifice for all of humanity, a gift from His Father to us, His beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: Behold the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel, God with us. Isaiah 7:14
