Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of Hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied." I Samuel 17:45

Jehovah Sabaoth, The Lord of Hosts or The Lord of Armies as it is sometimes translated denotes His universal sovereignty over every army, both spiritual and earthly. The Lord of Hosts is the King of all Heaven and earth.

When David, a humble shepherd boy approached Goliath, a highly trained behemoth of a man, armed to the teeth and hell bent on David's destruction it wasn't just to pick a fight with a kid, the giant had defied The Lord of Hosts! The battle with our enemies, either spiritual or physical belongs to God and He will fight for us!

We are all fighting some battle in our walk with Jesus, whether sickness or relational, financial or a demonic attack, nonetheless we need to remember whose battle it belongs to and take our hands off and see the glory of the Lord of Hosts fight for us!

Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear, for the battle is the Lord's and He will give you (Goliath and any other enemy) into our hands. I Samuel 17:47
