For I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting (punishing) the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me. Exodus 20:5

Qanna, Jealous or Zealous is God's name as relating to a marriage relationship. God is envious of us and jealous if we give our devotion to another, just as a spouse would seek another's love. This is called spiritual adultery when we serve or worship other gods just as in the natural when a man commits adultery with a woman outside of marriage.

God's name in the Ten Commandments is Qanna or jealous, punishing the sins of the fathers upon their children. This is the generational sin that descends down the bloodline of man bringing a curse upon the disobedient. God wants our undivided attention and devotion as the wife or Bride of Christ! How would you feel if you came home to find your bride in bed with another, Jealous?

We as the Bride of Christ are to be in the world, but not of it or friends with it, because it always brings a snare or trap as we entangle ourselves with its temptations! We are to love God with all of our heart and soul, devoting all of our time and affection toward Him, just as a man would love his own wife!

Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity (ill will) with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. James 4:4
