The Most Important Message You Will Ever Read

But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart." That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:8-10

As I have said before no one can come to God unless He allows it and one cannot become born again by simply praying a prayer he doesn't understand and "Poof" he becomes a Christian! Salvation is a free gift offered to all of mankind, but it is not unconditional, there are certain things one must do in order to receive it.

The above mentioned scripture is where the "Sinner's Prayer" originated but it was preached by the apostle Paul from the Old Testament in Deuteronomy 30:14-20 that describes a covenant relationship with God in that we are to love and obey Him with all of our hearts! Most people don't realize that the gospel was preached from the law and the prophets because the New Testament wasn't written yet and the law brought about a godly sorrow leading to repentance, the result being: salvation. Sounds like a marriage vow where two people make a covenant between them forever, and that is exactly what it is.

A certain lawyer approached Jesus and asked Him what he should do to inherit eternal life and Jesus responded by asking him what was written in the law. The lawyer promptly said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind and your neighbor as yourself." Jesus answered him and said, "Do this and you will live!"  That is what eternal life is all about, a love relationship resembling a marriage between two people that forms an eternal bond forever.

"But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart that you may do it. "See I have set before you today life and good and death and evil, in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply and the Lord will bless you in the land which you go to possess." Deuteronomy 30:14-16

For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8

Grace is the door by which the sinner can approach God to receive mercy and faith gives us the ability to believe Him for salvation. Grace is un-merited favor because God loves us therefore He gives us access to His presence while still in our sins.

A rich man approached Jesus and asked Him, saying, "Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus responded by telling him that no one is good but God. He then proceeded to tell him to sell all of his possessions that ultimately had his heart, and to follow Him. Jesus didn't lead him in a prayer, He didn't say, "Give it a try!" He said,"Follow Me!" The rich man couldn't give up his life nor his riches to follow Jesus and he went away grieved although the preachers of today would have jumped at the chance to lead the boy in a prayer and have him join their church and show him their new building program!

Don't think for a minute that some magical prayer can save your soul from a burning Hell and deliver you from your sins! Make no mistake, the rich man went to Hell because he refused to give up his life and follow Jesus. In a marriage ceremony there are only two words that mean anything. It doesn't make any difference how frilly it is, or how eloquent, the fact of the matter is this: I do are the only two words that consummate your vow to your spouse and so it is with Jesus, you either forsake you sins, repent and follow Him, or you don't, the choice is yours.

"If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. "And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple." Luke 14:26,27

"Repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:38

The apostle Peter preached to the Jews condemning them for crucifying Jesus and they were cut to the heart with conviction crying out to him and saying, "What shall we do?" Peter told them to repent and be baptized and so that day three thousand were saved. They received his word by faith, repented of their sins and were baptized, being buried with Christ and resurrected as new creations, born of the Spirit!

As you can see, the gospel of Jesus Christ has been compromised and watered down to the point that it has lost it's convicting power to save. If these messages have stirred your heart or brought about a godly sorrow or a deep conviction that you have broken the laws and commands of God and fallen short of His grace, then don't hesitate to repent and cry out for mercy and ask Him to deliver you from an eternity of punishment in Hell! Your very life depends upon the choice you make as to where you will spend eternity and you no longer have an excuse because you have been told!

Jesus died on the cross and suffered a horrible death to give you eternal life and forgive you your transgressions and His blood was shed in seven places giving you a complete deliverance from the bondage of sin! You may not have another chance to receive His mercy and grace in your life, ask Him by faith to save you and set you free and He will respond by washing your sins away and the Holy Spirit will enter your life and change you forever!

"Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, "and that He may send Jesus Christ who was preached to you before, "whom Heaven must receive until times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of His holy prophets since the world began." Acts 3:19-21
