The Mind Of Christ, Part III
Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new. II Corinthians 5:17
When one is born again he is a new creation in Christ, and just as a human baby is first born, his mind is void of understanding, hungry for knowledge and open to be filled with information. The spiritual man is fed with the word of God that is assimilated into his heart where it becomes wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
The carnally minded man sets his mind on the things of the flesh, not able to discern spiritual things, he fills his mind with worldly knowledge, education and that which separates him from God. There is no such thing as a carnally minded believer, contrary to popular belief because the mind set on the flesh is death! That doesn't mean we don't have temptations and lusts that bombard us daily, but we have spiritual weapons to defeat these fiery missiles by taking thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ, thereby driving them out of our minds!
Today in the age of information we are subjected to a multitude of media via the Internet, TV, radio and every kind of electronic device imaginable. Our minds are the target of the demonic control of our attention span, which is approximately eight seconds, the goldfish however has a nine second attention span, so you see our dilemma. The church has been polluted with false teaching, doctrines of demons and tradition leaving her vulnerable to the relentless attacks of the enemy instead of filling their minds with the revelation of God's word!
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Romans 8:5,6
