The Master's Plan, Part VIII

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. Colossians 1:15

God is a triune being with three distinct persons in One, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Can we fathom that, probably not, but by faith we except the fact that God is One! In the beginning when God created the earth and was about to create man, He said, "Let us (the Trinity) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness." And so God created man with a body, soul and spirit, made in the likeness of God.

The Trinity has been explained as an egg, God being the shell, the omniscient, infinite being, Jesus being the yolk or God incarnate and the egg white, representing God the Holy Spirit or Spirit of God, three persons in One! Throughout scripture God is described as being One God and in the New Testament Jesus said in John 17:21, "That they (His disciples) all may be one as You Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us." The all powerful three in One God of all the universe!

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God as the scripture in John 1:1 describes the Lord Jesus Christ being the Word of the living God. In the above mentioned scripture it states that Jesus is the image of God, in other words in order to actually see God we must look at the Lord Jesus, who is in fact the One God!

And the Word (Jesus Christ) became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
