The Master's Plan, Part VII

In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:14

When someone is kidnapped, his captors demand a ransom be paid for them to release the one who has been taken and so it is with us as we have been kidnapped by sin. Sin has held us in bondage and kept us from the life of God who gave His only begotten Son for our ransom, to set us free forever!

The Lord Jesus Christ has redeemed us by the shedding of His own blood on the cross in which our sins and transgressions were washed away forever. This one redemptive act set all of mankind free from past, present and even future sin for those who would appropriate this gift of forgiveness in their life by becoming a born again, new creation in Christ. By seeking forgiveness from the Father and repenting of ones sins, one can be saved by faith in Christ and receive the benefit of salvation, being cleansed by His blood.

There is salvation, the deliverance from sin by only One, the Lord Jesus Christ who purchased us by taking the punishment for us to whom it was due on the cross. By His merciful kindness toward us even while we were dead in sin and falling headlong into Hell, He shed His blood to free us and gave us the gift of eternal life!

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. Ephesians 1:7
