The Gospel Of Jesus Christ, Part I
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes. Romans 1:16
The word gospel simply means good news and yet it is one of the most misunderstood and misused words in all of scripture. The apostle Paul addressed the Romans with the statement that it is the power of God to salvation, in other words, contained within it is the power to transform ones life.
The good news is this, the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ has given mankind the ability to have his sins washed away by the blood shed by the Savior, and by faith, and by appropriating this act of mercy in ones life. Jesus is the perfect blood sacrifice given by the Father to those who would receive His grace and mercy by accepting His Son's sacrificial act.
Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, the only One who laid down His life that we might inherit the wealth of eternal life. Our sins and transgressions have separated us from the heavenly Father and by accepting the grace of God through faith, this substitutionary act, one can be born again.
And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. John 17:3
