The Glorious Gospel Of Jesus Christ Part II

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned. Romans 5:12

Adam's sin in the Garden of Eden caused all of mankind to be born with a death sentence hanging over their lives completely eliminating any hope of gaining entrance to eternal life by good works! In other words there is no one righteous enough or good enough to enter Heaven's portals without first being washed in the blood of Jesus by faith, repenting of their sins and surrendering their will to Christ!

Salvation is not a one time decision made because someone wants the benefits of Heaven's splendor, it is a lifestyle of following and obeying the Lord Jesus Christ. Going to church, getting baptized, or doing charitable deeds won't save your soul, only by surrendering your heart to Jesus completely will allow the Holy Spirit to transform you into a new creation. The gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ offers freedom from sin and eternal damnation through His shed blood and repentance from an evil life!

Millions have prayed the famous "Sinner's Prayer" thinking that somehow this little utterance will save them and they can continue to live for themselves and not for Him and if that is the case they are gravely mistaken. If you have been asked to bow your head and close your eyes and pray something that some preacher has asked you to do without a godly conviction to do so you had better seek the Lord with all of your heart and ask Him for mercy and cry out for forgiveness to truly become born again!

Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act, the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. Romans 5:18

For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. II Corinthians 7:10

In order for one to be saved he must first come to the realization that he is lost. No one can come to God at any time unless the Spirit draws him and then he comes under conviction that he needs salvation because he has broken the laws and commandments of God. The preaching of the gospel brings about the knowledge of sin and convicts the sinner that he is indeed lost and dying in need of a Savior.

The law of God convicts us that we have become lawbreakers because we have not obeyed Him and being ignorant of them does nor exclude us from the consequenses. It is like driving down the highway at 80 mph and topping a hill and suddenly you see a speed limit sign that says 55 mph, immediately you are convicted that you broke the law of the land. So it is with the commandments of God, when you hear them it convicts you of sin and brings about a godly sorrow that will lead you to confess your sin and repent.

As you can plainly see what we have practiced in regards to leading people to Jesus is grossly misrepresented and needs to be thrown out with the rest of the religious nonsense that we have tried to force on the unsuspecting sinner. No where in the Bible can you find someone leading someone to Christ apart from preaching the gospel and allowing the Holy Spirit to bring them under conviction. Jesus didn't lead anyone in a prayer, nor did Peter, Paul or anyone else in the New Testament Scriptures!

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary. I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, "You shall not Covet." Romans 7:7

"Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. "I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance." Luke 5:31,32

Jesus began His ministry preaching a gospel of repentance from sin and calling all men to be saved and to follow Him. His mission on earth was to restore mankind from where they had fallen away from God through rebellion. Jesus came to give us life through the blood that He was to shed on the cross, for us who deserved eternal wrath and damnation.

Many today have confused repentance with confession of sin. Although confession is necessary, it is not repentance, because repentance involves the changing of ones mind and heart and the turning away from an evil lifestyle. To repent is to make an about face, a 180 degree change in direction, from evil to good, and from death into life. When one comes under the convicting power of the Holy Spirit his heart is pierced to the core with godly sorrow that leads to repentance and the beginning of a transformed life.

The Apostle Peter preached to the Jews condemning them for crucifying the Lord Jesus Christ and when they heard his message they were cut to the heart with conviction and they cried out, "What shall we do?" Peter told them to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and they would receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

"Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord." Acts 2:19

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. II Corinthians 5:17

To be converted from a sinner to a saint is a process of transformation produced by the Holy Spirit who enters the spirit of man and begins to set up residence. Old habits, character traits as well as profane language and bad behavior are all thrown out as the Spirit begins to remodel His new home.

When one is truly born again he becomes a totally new creature, the old man dies and is buried through baptism and isresurrected into a supernatural life form. Just as Jesus was crucified and buried, He too was resurrected into a Spiritual Man. The new creation now begins to live in a new realm of spiritual things and begins to grow by being nourished on the word of God! The total transformation takes a lifetime of trials, tribulations and sufferings that literally burn out the impurities and old nature but the outcome will be one who has been changed into the very image of God.

There can be no mistake in knowing who is and who isn't a new creation because of the transformation that the new birth has caused in a person's life. To spot a new born baby in Christ is to see someone that has been totally transformed by the supernatural power of God, and the life of the Lord Jesus will indeed shine out from their spirit and illuminate their surroundings!

I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. "Do nor marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' "The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit." John 3:5-8
