The Four C's of Fellowship Part III
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."  Matthew 28:19,20
The word commission means the authority to act as an agent for another and to be charged with a certain duty, in this case, the making of disciples of Jesus Christ.
Because of the traditions that have been passed down through the ages we have a mindset in the church that this ministry is only for a select few who have been to Bible college and have been sent to be missionary's, but that is simply not true. If you are a "Born again Christian" you are called to go to the lost and to minister in the name of Jesus Christ. We have been taught to just show up and write a check and someone else will go and do what in actuality we are called to do ourselves.
The primary ministry of the church is to make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, not members, but exact replicas of Jesus. A disciple is someone that not only looks like Jesus but does the works of Jesus. If the church was made up of disciples, trained and equipped to serve rather than members that only show up on Sunday we would see the power of God manifest like never before; and the world would be changed forever!
Jesus chose twelve men as His apostles to be master builders and architects with the blueprint of His church instilled in their hearts. His divine DNA was placed into the very fabric of their soul. These men were just average, unlearned and unskilled in ministry and probably illiterate as well, but in three short years they had become fully trained and equipped for what lie ahead. A church of 3000 brand new baby Christians.
Impossible you say, but in fact it was God's plan to put 3000 new converts with no place to go together to learn to love one another and to ultimately become the living expression of Jesus on the earth. Jesus took twelve stones, Paul eventually becoming the twelfth and trained, equipped and sent them into the world as master builders in three short years. The world has never been the same since, and God wants to do it again in you!
God has so placed in the church: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to train and equip believers to do the work of ministry. If the God ordained leadership would begin to replicate in others what God has given them, the world would be a different place and the church would certainly look more like Jesus. For the church to truly become what God intended her to be this must take place.
The great commission is for all believers to replicate the divine nature of Jesus Christ in others, thereby making them disciples empowered with the same authority that Jesus gave the twelve. If the workload were distributed among believers and the leadership would assume their role as trainers and equippers, the world would be harvested in a short time thus ushering in the second coming of Christ.
A powerful warrior bride trained and equipped for battle, taking dominion over the powers of darkness and reaping a harvest of new converts throughout the earth and giving God the glory and honor. Healing the sick, raising the dead and setting the captives free the church would be a formidable force to be reckoned with. A band of nobodies for Jesus sold out and willing to lay down their life for the Savior, and share their faith with a lost and dying world!
Are you tired of dragging yourself to another funeral service for a dead savior, a lifeless mass of bodies trying to hold their head up through another meaningless message of how to make it through another week, or would you give yourself away to the Risen Lord Jesus and serve His purpose on the planet by obeying His Great Commission?
Evangelism- Preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost in every corner of the globe and in your own neighborhood. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation for the lost to be convicted of sin, born again by faith, and washed in His blood. "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15
Transformation- Repenting of one's old lifestyle of sin and rebellion and being delivered from the strongholds that hold us in bondage. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new. II Corinthians 5:17
Duplication- Making disciples of Jesus Christ and teaching them to go and do the same. "And the glory which you gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one." John 17:22
Unification- Introducing new disciples into the family of God. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Ephesians 2:13
Impartation- Receiving the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit to enable the disciple to minister in his gifting. "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you." Acts 1:8
Multiplication- Through prayer and fasting and the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ the church will grow and multiply. Be fruitful and multiply. Genesis 1:28

Globalization- By implementing the plan of God to replicate and make disciples the world can be reached for Christ. But speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head, Christ, from whom the whole body joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.  Ephesians 4:15,16
